This list seams simple enough but in reality when we are in a funk it is hard to remember or even doing one of them. It takes real strength and courage to get moving.

Are you ok?

4EE83017-9695-454F-BA6A-4A3B98B0ACE0This is why #PTSD is so dangerous. We worry more about what people may say or think of us. #veterans, #military, #army are not the only ones. People with money and fame also have #mentalhealth problems: #anthonybourdain, #robinwilliams, and #katespade are just a few. For some of us, the joy of helping others keeps us going. #navy #usmc #youarenotalone #va #usarmedforces

Suicide Thoughts

Here is some of the information I gathered at Fort Hood Medical Center. As we work together and share our resources around with everyone we know we can combat the problem of suicide among veterans and one day there will not be a single suicide by a veteran.

Code Red

I think all branches of the US military have their own silenced version of Code Red. In the Navy if a sailor is a dirty but or dirt bag his rack (bed) is washed not in a very nice way and if he doesn’t get the point then he gets the 250 psi (pound per square inch) fire house bath. That one hurts.

Collecting Life Saving Info

Today I took some time to go to the Medical Center in Fort Hood to asked if they have PTSD resources both on base and out. The entire 3rd floor with in the hospital is dedicated to mental health. I collected some good information. I was happy to see that there are Christian information all over the 3 rd floor hallways. Our Daily Bread when I opened the little book it landed on a page title; Into Our Storm.
